In its August 2011 issue,
Brazil's leading quality magazine, “Banas Qualidade”, published whitepaper
“Process Capability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness in Quality Management
and Continuous Improvement“, recently issued by ASI DATAMYTE managers
Rusty Ekstrom and Terry Gilbert. The paper debunks the notion that
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is all that any quality program needs and
that rigorous Process Capabilities (PC) and six-sigma goals are
unnecessary. It examines the impact of defect levels, how they
affect complex process and the overall cost of failures.
